In 1967, after many
years of cattle farming, sales experience with John Deere and a life
insurance company and as manager of the Monsanto Agricultural Center
in Bushnell, Bill Chadderdon entered the agricultural construction
business as a partner with Lyle Webb, owner of L.D. Webb Company.
In 1970, Bill and wife Harriett purchased the company from Mr. Webb,
and two years later renamed it "CHADCO, INC." |
| Later that year, CHADCO
expanded with the acquisition of Morel Farm Service in Macomb. The
next 25 years were filled with steady growth and expansion, both in
terms of numbers and locations of clients served and products offered. |
 |
At one time, CHADCO was the
largest Behlen Dealer in the U.S., and has been an extremely successful
Butler dealer for 10 years. (Butler has now been sold to CTB/Brock Grain
Systems) The company has consistently won awards from companies like Mayrath
and Neco, not only as a major player, but as a Top Volume Dealer.
In Winter 1997, the ownership
of CHADCO was sold to Bill and Harriett's son, Paul, and Steve Snyder,
who has worked for the Chadderdon's since February of 1987.
In December of 1999, our founder
and Chairman of the Board, William Chadderdon passed away. His strength
and leadership continues today in the mission and direction of CHADCO,
Inc.
Harriett Chadderdon serves as treasurer, and remains active in the business
activities of CHADCO, with the competent new generation at the helm.
Paul Chadderdon is President of CHADCO, and Steve Snyder is the Vice-President.
